Women on the Streets of Kabul

My friend U worries about her family's future, but also about women who are disadvantaged.

"On 15 August 2021, when people heard that the Taliban had come to Kabul, the city people left their work places and went home. But the most painful part is this: that an NGO under the name of Women for Women (WAW) left women who had lived in safe house or shelters, on Kabul streets without any support. Most of these women have family issues and don’t have any place to go. It is difficult to think what they did that night when the Taliban also was in the streets.

This NGO had shelters in different provinces for women. In the last months when the security condition was so bad in provinces they moved all women and girls to Kabul, and on that day they left all of them on the streets. Most of them were from provinces and they don't know anyone in Kabul. So I am so worried about them, where they are now."
